  • Safari Float Tour
    Only five minutes from Tilajari Hotel Resort and Conference Center, you will begin a leisurely ride in an inflatable kayak or boat down the scenic Peņas Blancas River. As you personally paddle or float down the river, our bilingual guide will alert you to a wide variety of trees, birds, monkeys and other wildlife. This eco tour, without the noise of a motor boat, is a perfect way to relax and enjoy the wonders of nature. Eco Tour includes: transportation, fruits and refreshments, equipment, and bilingual naturalist guide. Duration: 4 hours.
  • Arenal Canopy Tour
    Tilajari, like most Arenal Costa Rica hotels, offers canopy tours.  However, our adventure tour begins with a horseback ride of approximately 40 minutes, or a tractor ride. We continue with a short walk through the primary forest where a Costa Rican guide will explain the flora and fauna that prevail in the rainforest.

    Sometimes it is possible to see and appreciate several types animals at the same time - monkeys, guatuzas, snakes and a great variety of birds. There are nine platforms located on the three species of trees. All platforms are specially designed for the observation of the life in the top of the trees.

  • Arenal Volcano & Hot Springs
    Less than 30 minutes away from the Tilajari Resort Hotel is Costa Rica's majestic Arenal Volcano, considered to be one of the most active volcanoes in the world. This nature tour departs at 4:00 pm and takes you through a variety of agricultural plantations including passion fruit, cassava, papaya, orange, cacao and ornamental plants. Once you get to the Look-out, the sensation it's simply a breathtaking to see glowing hot rocks tumbling down the side combined with thundering explosions, a truly spectacular sight. Upon returning to the hot springs you will have the opportunity to soak in these natural hot medicinal waters for over an hour to relax body and soul surrounded by the forest. This nature tour returns to Tilajari at approximately 8:30 pm, just in time for dinner. Tour includes: transportation, entrance fees and bilingual guide.

 

  • Horseback Riding & Rainforest Hike
    To begin Tilajari´s Rainforest Tour you can get by car or by horse. This privately owned 1,000 acres of tropical rainforest is undoubtedly the best in northern Costa Rica, located only one half mile from the Hotel. Beginning normally around 8 a.m., you will be riding a horse through cattle farms properties for  half of a hour and then, taking a nice interesting walk to see three to four hundred years old trees, poisonous frogs, monkeys, birds and if you are lucky, small mammals. This tour includes: transportation and bilingual naturalist guide.

 

  • Hanging Bridges
    Located within the corridor followed by birds migrating between North and South America, the trails and bridges of this project will bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to the birds, the flowers and the lush vegetation of the primary rain forest. You will be able to walk right into the forest, thanks to the imposing 3.1 kms of hanging bridges and the beautiful trails that are safe and easy to walk on.

 

  • Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge
    This tour departs at 8:00 am from Tilajari and will take you through the most important citrus groves, pineapple and sugar cane plantations of Costa Rica. You will arrive at Los Chiles on the northern border around 9:45 am. From here you'll be taken on a comfortable 3 ½ hours boat ride up the Río Frío, a tropical river alive with an immense variety of animals. Caño Negro consists of over 18,000 acres of lagoons and marsh land (tropical everglades).

    The great biological diversity and the fact that many species found here cannot be seen in any other part of the country, attracting many bird watchers and nature lovers. Capuchin, spider and howler monkeys, sloth, garfish, roseate spoonbills, many types of herons, caimans and turtles are commonly found at this unique reserve.  As many as 60 different types of birds have been seen spotted on this adventure tour.
