  • Don Carlos Farm tour
     Do you want to learn how to milk a cow? What a chapulín is? How to make cheese?
    You can do it all with this tour, The Vargas Family awaits you to share the experience of being a real “costarican lechero” and its culture. Located in La Fortuna, 30 minutes away from the hotel, the property has 70 hectares which are surrounded by lakes, gardens, secondary forests, rivers, tubers and fruits plantations and of course, the pastures where more than 400 cows feed. Within the facilities the visitor will find are: reception room, milking parlor (where is possible to milk a cow and learn about it), the orchard, the utilization of organic fertilizers, the dairy farm and the stables, the cheese plant and the souvenirs.

  • Río Celeste, Teñideros and Waterfall
    This is a full day experience for the jungle lovers in great physical conditions. Leaving the hotel just before breakfast (7:30 a.m.), we begin a 90 minutes drive to Tenorio Volcano National Park. There a local guide will take you through the real rainforest, hiking around 2 hours of natural and moderate-high difficult paths to get to volcanic hot springs, near also the amazing place where Río Celeste (Sky Blue River) take its name: the teñideros, this chemical phenomenon is produced by the high level of volcanic minerals in the river button turning drastically the water color from transparent to turquoise or sky blue.
     
    Enjoy a snack in the rainforest heart, with a beautiful waterfall right next to you. Relax with the landscape, learn about nature and then start your hike back to the National Park office where hot delicious and typical lunch will be waiting. 
     
    By the end of the afternoon, we will be back in the hotel.




  • Safari Float Tour
    Only five minutes from Tilajari Hotel Resort and Conference Center, you will begin a leisurely ride in an inflatable kayak or boat down the scenic Peņas Blancas River. As you personally paddle or float down the river, our bilingual guide will alert you to a wide variety of trees, birds, monkeys and other wildlife. This eco tour, without the noise of a motor boat, is a perfect way to relax and enjoy the wonders of nature. Eco Tour includes: transportation, fruits and refreshments, equipment, and bilingual naturalist guide. Duration: 4 hours.
  • Arenal Canopy Tour
    Tilajari, like most Arenal Costa Rica hotels, offers canopy tours.  However, our adventure tour begins with a horseback ride of approximately 40 minutes, or a tractor ride. We continue with a short walk through the primary forest where a Costa Rican guide will explain the flora and fauna that prevail in the rainforest.

    Sometimes it is possible to see and appreciate several types animals at the same time - monkeys, guatuzas, snakes and a great variety of birds. There are nine platforms located on the three species of trees. All platforms are specially designed for the observation of the life in the top of the trees.

  • Arenal Volcano & Hot Springs
    Less than 30 minutes away from the Tilajari Resort Hotel is Costa Rica's majestic Arenal Volcano, considered to be one of the most active volcanoes in the world. This nature tour departs at 4 pm and takes you through a variety of agricultural plantations including passion fruit, cassava, papaya, orange, cacao and ornamental plants. Once you get to Arenal 1968 Volcano View and Lava trails, the sensation it's simply a breathtaking to see glowing hot rocks tumbling down the side combined with thundering explosions, a truly spectacular sight. Upon returning to the hot springs you will have the opportunity to soak in these natural hot medicinal waters for over an hour to relax body and soul surrounded by the forest. This nature tour returns to Tilajari at approximately 8:30 pm, just in time for dinner. Tour includes: transportation, entrance fees and bilingual guide.

 

  • Arenal 1968 Volcano View and Lava Trails
    This amazing spot belongs to Tilajari´s family and is the best overlook in La Fortuna  to enjoy Arenal Volcano and Lake at the same time! Only 30 minutes from our hotel, Arenal 1968 offers three options: you can sit, take pictures and relax waiting for the frequent volcanic activity, hike along the lava trails from 1968 eruption or have a horseback ride through all this unique area.  After living this experience, if you also want to enjoy Hot Springs just let us know when you book this tour so we can coordinate properly.

 

  • Horseback Riding & Rainforest Hike
    To begin Tilajari´s Rainforest Tour you can get by car or by horse. This privately owned 1,000 acres of tropical rainforest is undoubtedly the best in northern Costa Rica, located only one half mile from the Hotel. Beginning normally around 8 a.m., you will be riding a horse through cattle farms properties for  half of a hour and then, taking a nice interesting walk to see three to four hundred years old trees, poisonous frogs, monkeys, birds and if you are lucky, small mammals. This tour includes: transportation and bilingual naturalist guide.

 

  • Hanging Bridges
    Located within the corridor followed by birds migrating between North and South America, the trails and bridges of this project will bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to the birds, the flowers and the lush vegetation of the primary rain forest. You will be able to walk right into the forest, thanks to the imposing 3.1 kms of hanging bridges and the beautiful trails that are safe and easy to walk on.

 

  • La Fortuna Waterfall
    La Fortuna waterfall are located 20 miles from Tilajari. It involves a 20 minutes walk through a beautiful rain forest to arrive at the bottom of the cascade; where you can have a refreshing swim surrounded by nature, nature and nature!!
