Not many hotels or resorts in Costa Rica offer you more outdoor sports options and family adventure activities than we do. Our resort is on 35 acres of flat terrain, so everyone from young children to senior citizens can easily move around.

Sport Facilities
Helping to fulfil the necessities of healthy recreation combined with a relaxed, natural environment, we offer multi-sport courts for soccer, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and more. In fact, our semi-professional soccer field is completely illuminated and our six tennis courts – two of them indoors- are frequently used by local and foreign clients for tournaments.
- Indoor Activities
Being a tropical country and with a marked rainy season, Tilajari Hotel Resort decided to add some indoor activities both for those moments when showers fall and just to entertain those clients who love these kind of hobbies. In the restaurant building, you will find our game room which offers billiards, ping pong, foosball and more.
- Swimming pools & Jacuzzi
We have recently remodelled our three swimming pools and the Jacuzzi area. Kids can enjoy safe, easy swimming in the two swimming pools for children while parents relax with a cocktail, sitting on the rustic wooden furniture around the pools. Or grownups can take a refreshing dip in the adult pool.
The brand-new Jacuzzi offers peace and relaxation. Immersing a body in water makes it 90% weightless, relieving pressure on bones, joints and muscles. The soothing combination of warmth and hydro massage invigorates skin surface and increase blood circulation
- Butterflies & Orquids Garden
Our butterfly garden is sublime. Enjoy this wonderful creation of nature with an expert guide who will explain you all the formation process for these amazing creatures – all at no extra charge.
Your can experience orchids as well. Orchids are the largest plant family on the planet. In Costa Rica there are around 1,500 species, most of which are considered epiphytes. The epiphytes grow on trees and use them as platforms where they can absorb more solar radiation than on the ground. The rest are considered terrestrials and some of them are so small that using a microscope is the only way to identify them.
Our butterfly and orchid garden is open every day from 7 am to 4 pm.

 Besides our own private rainforest reserve in front of the hotel property and our vast cattle farms, Tilajari has developed an interesting area that includes a medicinal plants garden and a tropical plantation of exotic fruits like guanabana, plantains, sugarcane, bananas, macadamia, pineapple and many different fruit trees.
- Iguanas
Are also a huge highlight at the resort. This animal, which is a large arboreal lizard found from Mexico to South America including the Caribbean Islands, are typically around 1 meter from head to tail and can weigh up to 10 kg.
- Bird watching
Thanks to our property’s unique characteristics and location right next to the San Carlos River, birds play a prominent role in our hotel and can be enjoyed almost all day near the gardens and restaurant.
